Six months: Solid food, tickles, and family

This month the big thing was that I had my first food! I tried rice cereal, then oatmeal, though that didn't initially sit too well with me. Applesauce was next, and that seems to be pretty good. I like holding a spoon in my hand, but of course I don't yet use it as it is intended. I also like sitting in the high chair (though when Anna sees me in it he sometimes says "Mine" and wants it back). Generally it has taken me most of this month to just get used to eating a little.

There is this spot on my upper belly. Yep, you guessed it, it is my most ticklish spot. At least right now. Anyway, Amma gives it a little kiss or tickle with her fingers and it makes me just laugh. It is pretty fun. Justine knows where the spot is too. My feet are also a little ticklish. Some other things that make me laugh are coughs and getting shampoo out of the bottle.

Anna and Appa were gone for the first part of the month, but then they came back! It is great to have them back. They both are fun. Appa makes fun sounds and faces to make me smile. Anna gives me hugs and kisses, spins me in my activity center, and brings me a rattle if I start to cry.

I know I tend to say this every month, but it is true. I am getting a lot stronger! I like to stand up holding onto Amma's hands (or my hand gripping her thumb) and my legs almost never do the little collapse thing. I even started lifting my right leg and doing a little stamp with it. When lying on my back, I can lift my head and do a little crunch with my whole body. I still love happy baby pose, and occasionally taste my toes or roll part way over. I can't quite sit on my own yet, but I am getting there.

I am still an early bird. Early to bed (by 7pm), early to rise (usually around 6:30am). But I still get up in the night quite a few times. (Amma is hoping we can work on getting these wakings down some in the coming month.)

This month we took a trip up to the mountains (Brainard Lake) and had fun in the snow. I was in my cool bear suit so stayed warm against Amma. We also visited grandpa and grandma a few times and had a big brunch with friends.

Thank you God for my curls, for things that make me laugh, and for Amma, Appa, and Anna.
